Most couples don’t want to think about the possibility of it raining on their wedding day. I must point out though, having rain and fog can make the images really romantic. In fact, Emily and Mike’s wedding images show just how romantic it can be. They look so in love! You also have to take a peek at Otis, the ring bearer. He is pretty adorable. This magical wedding from Jacqie Q Photography shows that Deep Creek is a wonderful place to get married, even if it’s not sunny and bright out.

From Jacqie Q Photography:

Emily and Mike were the sweetest to get to know on the phone when they were planning their Deep Creek Lake wedding at Wisp. As far as photography goes, they planned an absolutely gorgeous Autumn wedding that I was more than thrilled to capture. Emily’s whimsical dress and Mike’s dapper gray suit… YES, PLEASE! Throw in Otis, the ring bearer, and we had a party. Emily had hoped and hoped for a sunny day, but instead was sent a lucky rainy day. She took it in stride and was simply excited to marry the man of her dreams.

Emily and Mike’s gift exchange was unique in that Emily “iced” Mike and his groomsmen. This was my first experience with the game, and if you aren’t sure what this tradition is it involves dropping to one knee and chugging Smirnoff Ice when challenged. Mike’s gift to Emily involved a heartfelt note that lead to lots of happy tears. And this is why I do what I do. I photograph weddings to capture real, raw emotions and moments – tears, laughs, all of it. These are the moments that tell your love story and that will be cherished for generations to come.

A Wedding in the Woods at Swallow Falls State Park
Two Frostburg State alum Rob and Ruth tied the knot during a wedding in the woods at Swallow Falls State Park. Deep Creek Lake is known for its outdoor scenery and Swallow Falls is a local and tourist favorite! A short walk back the path leads to falls of differing sizes and speeds. You can stand at the top, bottom, and middle of Muddy Creek Falls with the sun shining down on your shoulders as the water pours over the rock's edge and the mist rises into the air. Maria from Made-Up Photography captured this summer wedding and expresses her joy in capturing the nuptials between these two lovebirds. "Rob and Ruth became my friends through what ...
